Probably this is why our lovestruck couple of San Diego Alexis and Alex chose this picturesque neighborhood of the city to tie the knot and start their forever. The amazing wedding venue that goes by the name of Darlington House in San Diego was picked by the couple to host their wedding day and we couldn't help but laud this decision!
Darlington House wedding venue in San Diego is a historic home which is located in the picturesque San Diego neighborhood of La Jolla. It provides a romantic setting for events and is just a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean's blue lapping waters. This vintage wedding venue is full of memories, with architectural details influenced by global traditions. It has both indoor and outdoor spaces, and it can easily be customized to a couple's wedding day plans. Mrs. Sybil Darlington used to live in Darlington House on a part-time basis. Guests will enjoy exploring the sophisticated furnishings and unexpected details on the inside. The home's exquisite gardens, with their rich, natural colors and textures, delight the eyes outside. Between 1925 and 1940, three architects were involved in the construction of the house. Sybil was an avid traveler, as evidenced by the Spanish, Grecian, Italian, and Egyptian designs found throughout the home. Ornate wooden doors, stained glass from an Egyptian mosque, and vintage tiles are just a few of the features that contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of this location.
The house's library wing is full of references to Sybil Darlington's love of travel around the world. The Moorish-style ornamental grille work adorns the balcony railing, drawing attention to the elegant built-in oak bookcases. Wooden doors with intricate carvings are modeled after those found at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. Urns discovered in library niches were custom-made in Seville. A Moroccan fireplace in one corner is inscribed in Arabic with the legend "To the faithful man I will grant whatsoever he believes me capable of giving." The scene is completed by the stained glass from an Egyptian mosque and antique tiles, including "La Pastora" near the library entrance and "St. Vincent Ferrer" in the pergola through the library window.
The San Diego wedding venue hosts only one event per day to allow couples and their guests to fully immerse themselves in the occasion. The space is suitable for both large and small gatherings. The Egyptian Patio can hold 100 people for ceremonies, while the Rose Garden can hold 200 people for vow exchanges and 150 people for dinners. Cocktail receptions are ideal in the Andalusian Patio and Library. The caterer can use the kitchen facilities and has access to dressing rooms in the upstairs suites. Couples can choose their own vendors, making it simple for them to celebrate in a way that is unique to them.
The wedding day at Darlington House wedding venue started bright and early when our wedding photographers in San Diego began to capture the big day in quintessentially small wedding details. Our stunning bride Alexis was captured as she got ready with her A-team of bridesmaids wearing matching bridesmaids' getting-ready outfits. The bride's mother also accompanied her daughter as she got ready for the biggest day of her life and posed for pretty pre-ceremony portraits. The matching bridesmaid outfits were satin robes featuring lilac and pink colors in pastel shades with Alexis in her bridal white satin robe. The bridal portraits looked gorgeous as she got ready for her big day and posed in the cascading stairs before walking down the aisle. The gorgeous wedding invites featuring white and light floral details were also captured with the bridal bouquet that featured light yellow, lilac, deep purple, and weaving green leaves.
The bridal ensemble of Alexis stole our hearts for starters. The wedding dress was a spaghetti-strapped white gown with a plunging neckline along with intricate embroidery and beading work could be seen running through the entire dress. The sweeping white wedding gown was worn with a pair of burgundy bridal shoes. The fall-themed bridal bouquet perfectly complemented her overall bridal look. Her hair was side-parted and neatly tied into a loose messy bun that looked effortlessly chic. Her better half Alex also brought out his A-game of groom outfit by acing in a dark royal blue two-piece formal suit. He paired this amazing groom suit with a pair of shiny black shoes, a crisp white shirt, a textured tie, and a white rose groom boutonniere. The team of groomsmen also wore the same ensemble as the groom and the bridal gang came out wearing peach bridesmaids' gowns, which together looked picture perfect!
They exchanged their wedding vows in a completely elegant setting surrounded by all-white wedding details with pops of color here and there. The gorgeous duo tied the knot in a gorgeous and chic wedding setting and we loved every bit of it. Alexis was walked down the aisle by her father and at this moment, there was not a single dry eye in the entire ceremony. The couple exchanged their wedding vows and was declared "husband and wife" shortly after. The newlyweds took this amazing opportunity to click a few couple portraits, and their wedding party joined them shortly after. They were joined by their loved ones for amazing family wedding moments.
Upon reaching their wedding reception venue, the next part of the wedding celebration began. From the all-white wedding ideas that were revealed in all the big and small wedding ideas to the emotional family-focused wedding portraits where the newlyweds were designed by their closest family members, every moment of this wedding in San Diego warmed up our hearts on a crisp fall day. The night came to an end with the couple celebrating and cutting their chic four-tiered wedding cake and twirling through the big dance floor while being wrapped in each other's arms. As much as well-loved all the well-placed and thoughtful wedding details of this San Diego wedding couple, we also love the synergy of positive energy that they brought to their wedding day.
