Jessica and Christopher Tell Their Engagement Story with Props From the Heart, and the Home
December, 9 2016
Your story doesn’t start on your wedding day. Your wedding photography from Lily & Lime doesn’t have to either.
An engagement photography session is the perfect opportunity to begin telling your never-ending story in pictures. And we love how Jessica and Christopher (and their son!) told their unique tale with the help of Lily & Lime.
Shot at Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve in Chesterton, Indiana, their fall engagement photos make great use of the great outdoors and the midwest’s unique nature.
Including the couple’s own props gives the shoot a personal and playful feel. The gold “family” and ampersand. The wood and paint DIY “Happily Ever After” sign. All are decidedly fun. And including their son helps keep things feeling candid.
And how about the ultimate prop? The ring. (Well done, Christopher.) Shooting it with the three sets of hands reminds us what this bling is really all about.
We especially love the “our story” chalkboard sign. And the photos where it takes “center stage,” leaving Jessica and Christopher a moment for stolen romance in the background. (Perhaps a little “pose inspiration?!”)
Waterfalls. Trees. Stone. Wood. Natural light -- all offer a variety of shooting opportunities.
And this silhouette shot is gorgeous.
From clothing and color choices -- everyone in jeans feels “on the same page” without being too “matchy-matchy,” and that red on Jessica just pops -- to props and place, these engagement photos offer style inspiration that comes straight from the home … and the heart.
