Weddings may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we all need to agree that some part of us loves the feeling that beautiful weddings bring to our lives. It is safe to say that everyone loves weddings for one reason or another. Whether you love weddings in a way that you are passionate about them and have been waiting your whole life for that one moment, or you are at the polar opposite where you can’t stand them, one thing is certain about these momentous celebrations- they are beautiful and priceless. Getting dressed up in the best of clothes, witnessing couples saying “I do,” and looking at each other with gleaming eyes are probably some of the most powerful and emotionally invigorating moments one can ever experience.
When you’re attending the most exciting day of the bride and groom’s lives, the big wedding day can bring out the best clothes from your wardrobe and while emotions are always running high you might shed a tear or two. Also, one of the best parts of a wedding is being able to catch up with people you haven’t seen in a while. All the people hyped up for the big celebration can bring even the gloomiest cloud to shine bright on a beautiful wedding day. And who can deny the scrumptious wedding menu that the newlyweds planned for days at length? From getting your hands on the trendiest wedding cakes to going home with a thank-you gift that speaks volumes about how the newlyweds feel about you, weddings are the loveliest experiences that one can’t deny.
One of such couples who made us fall in love with them head over heels is our next couple from San Antonio- Brandon and Shamilta. Rebuilding the spirits after the recent shift which the world went through, this San Antonio couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding setting. San Antonio has been one of the most romantic cities in Texas to get married in, and it was Shamilta's first choice to start her "forever" too. Whether you are a permanent resident of Hill Country or you are planning your nuptials from out-of-town, San Antonio is home to some of the most beautiful wedding venues around important historical heritage sites like the Alamo, San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, and the Spanish Governor's Palace as well as famous museums and art galleries to match your wedding aesthetics like the popular San Antonio Museum of Art. This is why this to-be-married couple from San Antonio had their heart set on tying the knot in this Texas city. From selecting wedding venues that will fit right with your choice of wedding themes and styles to selecting venues that will accommodate your long list of guests, getting married in San Antonio is a sure shot way to make sure that you and your guests will have a great time on this momentous occasion.
After a year that was 2020 when the world was hit by a pandemic, Brandon and Shamilta tied the knot in San Antonio in the early spring of 2021 and gave us a ray of hope. Their beautiful journey has been very nicely documented by our San Antonio wedding photographers and the heartwarming wedding album stands as a true testament to this unique day that we have spent basking in true love and affection. Hosted in a central location of Texas, this picturesque wedding in San Antonio was attended by the closest people of this beautiful couple. We couldn't help but appreciate how every part of the logistics was immaculately planned, from grand floral arrangements to hand-crafted décor. The intimate, romantic, emotional, and very aesthetically pretty golf club wedding in San Antonio would rival any romantic film, and it very well showed in all the detailed wedding portraits.
Featuring endless natural beauty, the Hill Country of Texas is filled with swimming holes and seasonal creeks that lend a dreamy vibe to every wedding portrait captured here. Whatever setting you choose, there’s a high chance it will be a wedding venue tucked somewhere in the mix of the best of what nature has to offer in Texas. From a century-old pharmacy posing as a wedding venue where couples love to style up a chic wedding on a low budget and a yacht club for a true sundowner wedding to a summer wedding spot lined with endless cypress trees and an imported French Colonial chapel in the hills, we have many favorites in this part of the country.
Smitten by what this city of Texas had to offer for their wedding photography session in San Antonio, Shamilta and Brandon stood at the altar of a light-filled golf wedding venue in San Antonio, Texas, to say “I do.” Their big wedding day reflected important parts of their life that were thoughtfully presented throughout the day- from giving their guests tastes of Texas fare as amazing region-centric wedding gift ideas to including nods to their respective heritage during the ceremony. The choice of wedding color palette was inspired by their favorite vacation spots featuring distinct beachy blues and beige hinting tropical aesthetics, and the day wouldn’t be complete without Brandon’s old-fashioned personality- they even hosted the reception at the classic wedding venue known as the Canyon Springs Golf Club! This chic spot for hosting their big day was the best decision ever as the elegant backdrops were made up of trickling waterfalls and endless greenery.

The dark brown wooden accents and natural stone accents that stretch out to the patio and surrounding landscaped lawns complete the perfect setting for dreamy wedding photography in San Antonio. Wedding ceremonies can also be held outside this wedding event space. The large waterfall makes a gorgeous backdrop for wedding ceremonies and even if you're getting married in the Clubhouse or the Golf Course, the magnificent waterfall can be used as a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photos. There is also a small waterfall at this exclusive San Antonio wedding venue which can also be used for beautiful and memorable wedding portraits as well as inspiring bridal portraits. The huge French doors, expansive stone walls, and the majestic treeline featuring live oak trees make it a dream destination for a wedding in all seasons. There are also two longhorns on the property that can lend a true Texas wipe to the entire wedding ceremony and reception in San Antonio.
Our lovely newlyweds Shamilta and Brandon chose the smaller of the two waterfalls for their wedding ceremony backdrop. The wedding ceremony started bright and early on a beautiful early spring morning of 2021. Our wedding photographers in San Antonio captured the thoughtfully placed details of this wedding day in amazing detail shots. The highly personalized wedding favor ideas featured shot glasses that were inscribed with beautiful calligraphy letters that said "Thank you for sharing our special day. Brandon & Shamilta. March 13, 2021" laid out in a mahogany round table tray. The wedding rings were very beautifully captured in front of a huge calla lily wedding bouquet. There were also unique thank you gifts for the wedding party, highly customized. These thank you wedding gifts were elegant customized face masks with the same inscription, which gave a very well-planned and thoughtful DIY detail to the entire wedding.
Brandon and Shamilta decided to have a unity sand ceremony apart from exchanging traditional wedding vows and rings and sharing the first kiss as newlyweds, which was a very symbolic and unique way to express what they felt for each other. One of the most followed wedding trends of recent years, the sand wedding ceremony is a unity ceremony idea that symbolizes the couple’s love and commitment at the wedding. In a sand ceremony, there will be an empty glass vessel along with two or more small sand vessels of different colors. During the ceremony, the couple uncorks or takes the topper off the small vessels and pours the sand onto the large transparent glass vessel. This symbolizes their union through a sand ceremony.
On this wedding day of this San Antonio couple, the sand ceremony set-up took the center stage of the ceremony as the kit was beautifully placed on a unity ceremony table. The couple and their loved ones got ready for the big day. Shamilta donned an intricately embroidered chic white summer-inspired wedding dress with spaghetti straps and scooped V-neckline with illusion details. The floral embroidery made her chic bridal look pop in the stunning bridal portraits clicked right before the ceremony began. Her fringed hairdo was elegantly tucked with a crystal bridal headpiece, that also matched with her crystal minimal jewelry featuring a plain pendant and stud earrings. Her chic bridal bouquet was a bunch of white cala lilies that spoke for a fashion statement.
Brandon wore a three-piece black formal suit with a light gray tux, a chic bow, and a pocket square. His dashing black tie groom look was further elevated as he wore dapper glares to wave off the bright sun rays. The dreamy bridesmaids’ attires also looked graceful as they slipped into one-shoulder light gray flowing maxi dresses and carried similar summer-inspired wedding bouquets made out of small cala lilies. The DIY details for dressing up reception tables featured white and blue wedding colors that synced with the overall wedding day color. There were warm candles, sparkling blue-tinted glassware, and crisp cream table linens. The chic three-tiered white wedding cake with a topper that said “Shit Just Got Real” weaved a playful vibe to this San Antonio wedding. There was also a smaller single-tiered wedding cake especially dedicated to their bike riding club.
The couple exchanged their wedding vows in front of the small waterfall in an intimate unity ceremony set-up. They exchanged vows and promised to be with each other for the rest of their lives. They also had their sand ceremony, as both of them poured colorful blue and white sands from their small vessels into the large transparent vessel. These beautiful moments were aesthetically captured in unforgettable wedding portraits. The wedding gang regrouped after the ceremony for a beautiful family portrait photo session in San Antonio. The newlyweds clicked pretty couple portraits against the gushing waterfalls and the longhorns grazing in the lush backdrops.
As the wedding day came to an end, Shamilta and Brandon had their evening reception at the vintage detailed courthouse of this wedding venue. Cheered by their loved ones, they had their first dance and went on to cut the elegant wedding cake. This wedding in San Antonio will stay with us for a long time to come as it was filled with so many precious memories. From the picture-perfect details to the unique ceremony that symbolized love, we are truly swooned by what this San Antonio union had to offer us.
