Malia and Andrew chose Chicago to be the city where they rejoice in their love story and we can’t be more thrilled. A city that comes with its world-class architectural structures and remarkable artwork, a range of awe-inspiring statues and sculptures, Chicago is full of attractive elements that provide the city the charm that it holds. Chicago, sitting pretty on Lake Michigan in Illinois, is amongst the largest cities in the U.S. Much coveted for its bold architecture, the city of Chicago offers a breathtaking skyline punctuated by skyscrapers such as the iconic John Hancock Center, Willis Tower, and the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower. The city is also celebrated for its museums, from the Art Institute of Chicago with its noted Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works to the Museum of Contemporary Art. Chicago enjoys an extensive reputation as a focal point of 20th-century architecture and art, with architects such as Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, and artists like Picasso, Mirõ, Dubuffet, and Chagall!

Starting from the much-talked-about Chicago deep-dish pizza to Chicago Bulls, Chicago is all about going big and making an impression worthy of a cheer! Home to stunning pieces of architecture like the Cloud Gate and Sears Tower to tourist-favorite spots like Navy Pier and Shedd Aquarium, Chicago is a bag of fun, all in all, ensuring to leave you with a smile smeared on your face and good memories. Located by the remarkable Lake Michigan, Chicago is a place that will never cease to amaze you with its amazing sunsets and there is perpetually something to do in this city, with its epic white-sand beaches and romantic parks and pensive museums, among other things! An effervescent city full of vitality and enchantment, having Chicago as a backdrop is every couple’s dream come true, and Malia and Andrew get to live the dream and capture it to treasure forever and look back on!

Malia and Andrew showed up on the day of their engagement session in their coziest best! The city dressed up in a magical snowy blanket as they posed for some pictures to hold close for the rest of their lives. Malia was dressed up in gorgeous cold-weather colors, embodying the spirit of fall and winter perfectly. She wore a gorgeous evergreen dress which was paired with black tights and black boots to keep her warm. She finished the look with a tan coat and a black and white plaid shawl. Her caramel hair matched her coat perfectly and was done in mesmerizing waves. Overall, Malia looked stunning and did perfect justice to the setting! Andrew was looking equally dashing in his blue-colored button-up, charcoal quarter button-down sweater, and a pair of tan trousers. He completed his look with a pair of tan and blue formal shoes, and a grey coat to finish it off with flair. A tasteful watch and a smile to light up a room finished his look. Together, they complimented each other beautifully with the perfect balance of warm tan tones and stoic greys, painting the perfect picture against the gorgeous setting!

The couple posed amidst the gorgeous landscape of bubbling streams, skeletal trees, and snowy winter paradise. With the somber backdrop of white, black, and deep brown, the couple emerged as a much-needed burst of color and joy. While the colors that they chose went phenomenally with the backdrop, they were also alive on their own. The flushed cheeks, smiling faces and the aroma of love added to the frames, breathing the engagement session to life. We love the shots captured by the gorgeous rustic rust-colored wooden doors, as they went with the couple’s outfits beautifully! We also love the shots seized with the forest looming in the backdrop, adding to the touches of winter in the frames. 

We love how the couple brought in so much playful energy to the engagement photo session, whether it is the romantic poses by the bubbling brook in the backdrop or the playful snow fight episodes. We love the resourcefulness of the couple as they used Malia’s scarf as a prop for their photographs. The Chicago engagement photographers captured them as they bundled up with the scarf and posed for some cute and cozy photographs. Overall, the couple provided a lot for the engagement photographer in Chicago to work with, working with their surroundings, using the props they have, and experimenting with several different poses.
